Our Packaging

Some natural brands charge a premium for fancy packaging. Some skip the packaging entirely to keep costs down. We wanted to do neither.

At MAMO, the formula always comes first — that is where my mother and co-founder Darina's forty years of formulation experience go, and that is what you are paying for. But we also believe the product should feel considered in your hands, on your shelf, and when you give it as a gift. So we work hard to make smart packaging choices that let us offer both — a brand that looks and feels premium without passing unnecessary costs on to you.

Every material we use is plastic-free and chosen deliberately. Glass, aluminium, paper, cotton. Things that have been trusted for generations, that can be recycled, reused, or returned to the earth without leaving anything behind.

What We Use

Aluminium tins — used for face bars, dog soaps, balms, and wax melts. Lightweight, durable, and infinitely recyclable.

Glass — our canine coat spray is housed in glass to preserve the formula. The spray pump is plastic — it is the one compromise we have not yet been able to avoid, and we are looking at alternatives.

Cotton bags — our soaps come wrapped in natural cotton bags. Breathable, reusable, plastic-free. Most customers find a second life for them long after the soap is gone.

Paper and cardboard — luffa soaps and candles are packaged in paper and cardboard. Recyclable and compostable.

Shipping

We reuse clean packaging materials wherever we can — boxes, paper padding, biodegradable starch peanuts. Your order may not arrive in a pristine branded box every time. We think that is the right call.

What You Will Never Find In A MAMO Order

Plastic bottles, synthetic fibres, plastic-coated or laminated packaging, or harsh chemical adhesives. Where a compromise is unavoidable, we choose the least impactful option and revisit it.

We are always open to better solutions. If you know of a packaging alternative we have not considered, we would genuinely love to hear from you — email mamo@mamolife.ie.
