It starts with the plants

Wild herbs gathered along the Wicklow coast and mountains. Dried by hand, steeped into teas, slow-infused into organic oils for weeks. Every MAMO formula begins here — before anything else happens.

Four generations — one studio.

Darina learned to make soap from her mother, who learned from hers. Today she formulates every MAMO product — a food engineer and cosmetic scientist with over forty years of experience.

Niko built the studio with his own hands — the moulds, the tools, the shelves everything sits on.

Geri forages wild herbs along the Wicklow coast and mountains — everything that goes into the formula begins with her and the land around us. Together we make everything in small batches, by hand, in Wicklow.

The Story

What we don't formulate with

Because what’s left out matters as much as what’s included. No synthetic detergents or foaming agents. No paraffin or petroleum waxes. No synthetic colourants or preservatives. No phthalates, parabens, or unnecessary fillers.

It started before we had a name for it

My grandmother Stanka made soap in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria the way her mother taught her — by hand, from what the land gave her. These bars are over forty years old. She never sold them, never labelled them, never thought of them as a product. My mother kept them anyway. Years later, when we started MAMO, we finally understood what we had been keeping.

Cosmetic Safety Approved

Every MAMO product holds a Cosmetic Product Safety Report — assessed by a qualified chartered chemist. Not a box-ticking exercise. A standard we chose because the skin absorbs what you put on it, and that matters.
