The concept of the soap dish came from a collaboration between Mamo soaps and Keiko.
The use of the curved oval shape being complimented by the hand selected, granite inspired matt black/brown and blue glazes, chosen to provide the colour contrast that complimented Mamo soaps organic colours while also introducing a pebble like texture.
This makes the finished design a visually impressive result with organic and tactile aspects.
Keiko O Morain Ogawa is a West-Cork based, Japanese Potter, whose distinctive style has been shaped by more than 20 years of dedicated practice.
Her work is deeply influenced by nature and by her ongoing exploration of the infinite possibilities offered through the development of her own artisan glazes and potting techniques.
Originally from Kyushu, Japan, Keiko draws from the heritage of a region renowned for celebrated pottery traditions such as Arita, Karatsu, and Amari.
Working in both earthenware and porcelain and making all her own glazes, Keiko creates bespoke pieces on commission and also supplies selected outlets with carefully chosen designs.
We are truly lucky to partner with her.
